Birthday isa very wonderful day. Everybody likes to celebrate it. It is a good opportunityto relax and spend time with friends, parents, relatives.My name is Olga.  I’m twelve years old. I have one main andparticular day in the year. It’s my birthday. There are a lot of holidaysthroughout the year but of course the most memorable is the birthday.     How do I spend the party? I was born inwinter, in December, so the weather is usually cold at this time and we arrangea birthday party at home. I invite my family members and my best friends. Mumand granny cook a lot of tasty and delicious things for our festive dinner. Weclean the flat and decorate it with balloons. When guests come we have a heartydinner.  My mum brings the birthday cakein. Then I puff the candles out. Guests sing songs and dance, play games andjoke, laugh or tell funny stories. Then we play different games.  As for birthday presents, of course, I like toreceive something interesting. I know that today many people prefer rational gifts,for example money or something valuable. For some of them it is even a commonpractice to say in advance what they would like to receive. I agree that on theone hand such reasonable approach is rather convenient. At least, you are surethat you won’t receive any unwanted junk, and your friends won’t have to breaktheir heads over this issue. But on the other hand, to my mind, it’s tooboring. I like surprises, so I prefer something inexpensive, but unusual andmemorable.  During our merry party we donot only sing songs, dance, and make jokes but we also speak about our life,hobbies, and future. As for me, as I have already mentioned, my birthday is oneof the most wonderful days in the year. I am always happy to have a nice daywith my friends.
